Golfer’s looking for a European destination that offers warm winter sun quite rightly often head for the Canary Islands, however the subtropical island of Cyprus with it’s short, mild winters provides a perfect location to play world class golf courses with the sun on your back. Maximum average temperatures in December reach 19°C. Lying in the eastern Mediterranean Sea, the island is located north of Egypt and south of Turkey. Aphrodite Hills Resort can be found on the southern coastline and is easily accessible from Paphos International airport.

The setting for this award winning resort is simply stunning. We will be staying in the 5* luxury hotel that is located on a plateau overlooking the legendary birthplace of the Greek goddess of love, Aphrodite.

Adjacent to the hotel is the famed Aphrodite Hills golf course. Following a complete modernisation  in 2017 that included the reconstruction of all bunkers and greens, the course was renamed PGA Cyprus National. A “must play” golf course, many holes enjoy far reaching sea views with lush bermuda grass fairways lined with olive groves. A buggy is mandatory due to some of the distances from greens to tees but by no means does this detract from the experience. Such is the quality of the course that the European Tour played two back to back tournaments here as part of their 2020 schedule.

Golf courses and coaching

Of the four rounds of golf to be played during our visit, two will be at PGA Cyprus National, one at Secret Valley and one at the highly acclaimed Elea Golf Course, a Nick Faldo design. The practice facilities that include the driving range, bunkers, putting and chipping greens at each venue are reserved prior to our rounds for an hour’s golf coaching before we head out onto the course to put your skills to the test.

Improving your golf, playing fantastic golf courses, meeting like minded golfers and making friends are just a few of the things to expect from this golf tuition holiday, but having fun is at the heart of every James Andrews holiday! This will be a social affair, set in a beautiful location within a relaxed atmosphere. 

Look forward to a delicious breakfast with the coaches and your fellow golfers before heading to the practice facilities for the very best in golf tuition. You will stay in the same group throughout your stay and keep the same coach. The maximum ratio of students to coaches is kept at 3:1 ensuring you the highest level of attention. This format continues as your coach plays and guides you around the fabulous golf courses included in this trip. During your “Playing Lessons” you will cover how to manage your round of golf, club selection, strategy, rules and etiquette. No round would be complete without a few drinks in the clubhouse afterwards to discuss the day’s play!

There’s time to relax, enjoy the leisure facilities available at the hotel before freshening up and meeting for a few drinks before evening dinner in one of the many restaurants present. We’ll aim to eat at each restaurant at least once to savour all that’s on offer.
