Here’s the question – “Is West Cliffs Golf Links the best golf course in Portugal?”

Could a golf course that only opened in June 2017 really rival or better the world class layouts of Monte Rei, Troia, Oitavos Dunes, Onyria Palmares, Quinta do Lago South, Vilamoura Old, Praia D’el Rey, San Lorenzo, Quinta do Lago North or Penha Longa (Atlântico)?

Here’s my answer – “Yes! Absolutely!”

The natural landscape was left undisturbed during the design and construction of this fabulous golf course. The holes appear to fit perfectly into the existing contours and terrain as if it were laid over 100 years ago. Nature is everywhere among the sand dunes and coastal vegetation. Stunning panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Óbidos lagoon can be enjoyed from every hole. As a result, the vista is simply breathtaking.

Played from the Black (64) tees the course measures just over 7000 yards. Don’t let this length put you off from this wonderful golfing experience. With 5 different tee options choose wisely and be prudent in where you select to play from for maximum enjoyment.

Be sure to allow enough time to relax in the modern clubhouse that sit up high on the hillside and enjoy the views out to sea.
